Many of us function day to day with many responsibilities and obligations that put us under stress. These might be necessary but they sometimes don’t feel idyllic. Idyllic refers to a circumstance or place that is extremely happy, peaceful and picturesque. There are few things that create that feeling more profoundly than a lakeside cabin.
When we move from responsibility to repose, from obligation to relaxation and from expectation to letting go, we can breathe deeply and calm our mind. It may take a few minutes or a few days, but finding that idyllic spot to release all that emotional content and the millions of thoughts swirling within our mind allows us to simply unwind.
Water, trees, mountains and clear, cool air have this way of reconnecting us to our foundation, our spirit and our essence. Nature arises from that same source so when we immerse ourselves in nature, we reconnect to that silence. That silence has a way of healing our wounds, our hyper-active minds and our emotional pain.
While a cabin on a lake might be a simple log structure, it holds a great power to inspire healing and allow us to find restoration and peace deep within. If we allow ourselves to re-connect to our essence and allow nature to nurture peace, the idyllic cabin on a lake might just restore an idyllic peace within ourselves.
